7:20am. Seriously?

Always used to sleep with VH1 on the television during summer days...certain songs just flooded motivation into me to get up early those mornings even when we didn't have to. I remember the days Coldplay's "Speed of Sound" would fill the living room in summer '05....we'd have breakfast together, talk, laugh. Things were better then.

It's now '08...the band's new song "Viva la Vida" softly plays as dawn slowly arrives. My eyes are already open. Watching the colors project from the screen and dance on the white walls till I can't see them anymore, and some sun takes its place. Still awake from early yesterday. The song makes way for irony.

Every now and then, there's the lingering option to admit defeat. Other days, I feel hope that in this current transition, we can try to get back to feeling like we could rule the world. Nothing could get better than that.
